This doll was originally supposed to be a handcrafted crocheted doll for my granddaughter, but as I began putting her together and making clothes from what I had on hand (which was #10 cotton) she began to take on a life of her own.
I’ve always been a huge fan of the Rose is a Rose comic – even though in all honesty I’ve never been a huge fan of comics. But Rose and her alter-ego Vickie the Biker have always made me laugh. You just never know when Vickie is going to come on the scene and add some excitement!
As this doll progressed, she became more “Vickie the Biker-ish”. And while she is still a work-in-progress, I’m not at all displeased by the way she came out – at least for a first attempt at crocheting a doll!
I’ve decided that I need to redo her eyes, they are too far apart. Her boots are setting aside at the moment because I can’t quite figure out how I want to finish them up (they are sort of thigh high) and her jacket still needs fringe along the backs of the arms.
I will get back to her, but for now she’s sort of on the back burner.
She turned out awesome! Amazing that she is your first attempt!
Thanks Rox! She is rather cute. She really did take on a life of her own 🙂
