Crochet Out and About backpack – just so you don’t think I’ve entirely given up on my first love – crochet.

When granddaughter Rebecca was here during the summer of 2016, she found this backpack on Pinterest and decided she wanted to make one – but needed help, so one of the things that we did while she was here was tackle this project.  (I can’t find the picture of Rebecca’s backpack! It was so pretty in different shades of blue).

When Jordyn saw the backpack, she wanted one as well – but she has yet to master the crochet hook, so I said that I would make her one and here it is.  It’s the perfect size for holding an iPad plus a few extra small things.

You’ll need one skein of Caron Pound of Love for the backpack and then a few hundred yards of a contrast color for the trim.

Additional Information:

You can find the free pattern for the Out & About backpack at the Crochet Club.

There is a smaller version for younger kids that’s really cute too, find the Little backpack pattern at the Crochet Club.

Hi, I'm Nancy I'm a yarn addict, number cruncher/bookkeeper, and software developer. Strange combination right? I get the same feeling of joy when working with high quality yarns that I do when a column of numbers are all neatly aligned and add up properly.
